▶ SINGAPORE GP, TRACK ANALYSIS
🔹This weekend F1 will arrive in Singapore for the second night race of the season. Also it is a city track where it's very easy touching the wall. The track is 5.063 km long and it has 61 laps. There are 23 corners, 14 left and 9 right. This year there will be 3 DRS Zones, one more than last year. There will be located on the finish line straight, on the straight between turn 5 and 7 and between turn 13 and 14.
🔸This is a very difficult track, especially for the driver. In the cockpit it's super hot and at the end of the race you lose a lot of KG. For this reason it will be very important to be in the right window with the tyres and to don't overheat power unit. This track isn't too hard for power unit because there are only 3 straights. Tyres life will be crucial because with a lot of turns and 61 laps you musn't consume it a lot.
🔹Usually everyone here tries to find downforce everywhere in the car, not like Monaco but it's similar. You need a fast car in turns and a good tyres management. First sector is the fastest one where you can overtake. There are 2 straights so some power can help you. Also you need traction to exit faster and using all your power. Second sector is a very difficult one and you need a balanced car, very responsive on the front and traction. Third sector is the most difficilt one with a lot of difficult corners. Here too you need a balanced car, very responsive on the front, to close turns better and traction for the main straight. Obviously everywhere here you need downforce.
🔸First 3 turns of the track are very important. You have to brakes very late attacking first curb and using all the second one. Then at turn 3 you have to be close to the curb but without touching it. Straight between turn 5 and turn 7 is the only one where you can overtake so it's very important that you exit well from turn 5 to use the slipstream and DRS. Last 2 corners are very difficult because you entry at 230 km/h trying to be always faster and to accelerate as before as you can but if you wrong the wall it's very near.
